Professional orientation event in English was held for students of Lyceum № 20 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council

On the 4 th of April, 2023, fourth-year students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Yakovleva Diana and Tetyana Grudzevych, under the guidance of associate professor of the English Philology Department Diana Sabadash, held an extracurricular career guidance event in English with pupils of Lyceum № 20 on the topic “Navigating Your Future: Prioritizing Career Choices for Ukrainian University
Applicants”. English language teachers Oksana Hurova and Lyubov Rublyk also took part in the event.
At the meeting, students talked about how to choose a future profession, how important it is to research the labor market before entering the university, and discussed the importance of soft and hard skills for building a successful professional future. Pupils were offered to take a test that gives an opportunity to determine current options of professions in accordance with personal preferences, priorities and inclinations.
Students of the specialty “Secondary education (English language and literature)” shared their experience of studying in this specialty, about future employment prospects, about the development of soft and hard skills in the process of education. They also discussed what opportunities for growth and development await future students at the university and emphasized that when choosing a future profession, one must take into account modern realities, the prospects of the specialty and the challenges that await students in the future.
