A meeting of experts of international projects of the Precarpathian and Warsaw Universities has taken place

On March 9-10, Tatariv (Ivano-Frankivsk Region) hosted a two-day working annual meeting of experts on the projects of creating the International Scientific Center “Observatory” of the Precarpathian and Warsaw Universities on Mount Pip Ivan and the International Center for Meetings of Student Youth of Ukraine and Poland (MCZ) in Mykulychyn.

Shynkaruk, vice-rector of Precarpathian National University, Jan Malitskyi, director of the East European Studies Studio of Warsaw University, Eliza Dzvonkiewicz, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, representatives of universities (offline and online), representatives of the State Emergency Service in Ivano-Frankivsk Region (offline and online), Beszczad Group of Mountain Voluntary Rescue Squads (online), PIMReC project managers, heads of local self-government bodies and project institutions of both countries (offline and online), of the joint technical secretariat of the EU cross-border cooperation program, contractors who carry out restoration and repair work in the Observatory, experts of the State Enterprise " Ukrainian State Research Institute of City
Design “DIPROMISTO” named after Yu.M. Bilokon. As a reminder, the international project “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan to the needs of the high-altitude rescue training center (PIMReC)” within the framework of PL-BY-UA cooperation is implemented by four partners: Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the University of Warsaw, the Department of Emergency Services in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, and the Bieszczady Group of Mountain Voluntary Rescue Squads.

The meeting was opened by the rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Ihor Tsependa. He
emphasized that there are still many tasks ahead of the partners, but a great future awaits joint projects, the main thing is to continue moving forward together.

Director of the East European Studies and Studies of the University of Warsaw, Jan Malitskyi, spoke about the history and stages of the observatory’s reconstruction, and also positively assessed the prospects for the work of the Center. He also presented a traditional calendar prepared by the Studios dedicated to the history of the observatory’s creation in Polish times.

Eliza Dzvonkiewicz, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, also addressed the participants of the meeting. Yaroslav Shynkaruk, vice-rector of the Prearpathian National University, told about the progress of construction works at the Observatory on Mount Pip Ivan during the reported period.

The deputy head of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region,
the manager of the PIMReC project Mykola Burlak and the head of the fourth specialized search and rescue group Taras Brynda, who participated online directly from the observatory, reported on the work of rescuers at the observatory on Mount Pip Ivan.

During the meeting, director of the Center for European Projects Leszek Buller and senior expert of the Representation of the Poland-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program in Lviv, Vasyl Khimiak, familiarized everyone with the peculiarities of the implementation of cross-border projects.
