Representatives of Precarpathian University participated in the Young Leaders Forum at YES 2024

The assistant at the Department of English Philology, Mariia Baziv, and a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Sofiia Pohut, of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University participated in the Young Leaders Forum of YES 2024, which is part of the annual international Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference. This event is one of the largest platforms for discussing Ukraine’s future in the European and global context, bringing together world leaders, politicians, military officials, and scholars.

YES was established in 2004 by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation to support Ukraine’s European integration aspirations and to promote dialogue on its security, reforms, and international development. Every year, the conference becomes a platform for in-depth discussions on the key challenges facing Ukraine and the world.

As part of the Young Leaders Forum, which is a part of YES, participants from our university had a unique opportunity to engage in discussions with leading experts and state figures. Among the speakers with whom they had meetings and discussions were such prominent figures as Boris Johnson, Kurt Volker, Alar Karis, John Herbst, Meredith Whittaker, Niall Ferguson, Anne Applebaum, Mike Pompeo, Moritz Schularick, James Maloney, Yvan Baker, David Petraeus, Kajsa Ollongren, Jim Costa, Rob Portman, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, Francis Fukuyama, Timothy Garton Ash, Stephen Biegun, veterans and military officials Madiar, Mazevych, Vasyk, Shliukharchuk, and volunteers Tata Kepler, Iryna Soloshenko, Yuliia “Taira” Paievska, and Oleksandr “Teren” Budko.

The forum covered a range of crucial topics: Ukraine’s future in the context of European security, post-war reconstruction opportunities, economic development, and the importance of international cooperation to overcome challenges.

“Participation in YES 2024, especially in the Young Leaders Forum, was an incredibly important experience. We had the unique opportunity to engage with leading experts and discuss pressing issues about the future of our country and its integration into the European community. This experience inspires us for further work and development, particularly in the field of education and collaboration with international partners,” shared the participants from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.

Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University is proud of its representatives’ involvement in international events that contribute to strengthening the university’s role in the global educational space and open new perspectives for developing international contacts
