On the occasion of Sustainable Development Day, the university successfully held a landmark interdepartmental educational initiative — the educational diplomatic game “Climate Perspectives”.
The event was aimed at deepening ecological thinking, developing interdisciplinary cooperation, and improving students’ language competence. The Department of English Philology served as a hospitable platform for the game. With
The event was moderated by Associate Professor of the Department of Biology and Ecology Tetyana Mykytyn and Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology Iryna Matiyash-Hnedyuk, ensuring synergy of natural and humanitarian approaches.
Students from groups A-26 and A-32g took on the roles of world leaders and diplomats, simulating high-level international negotiations on climate change. Participants actively defended the priorities of their “countries”, demonstrating the ability to find balanced compromises between economic interests, environmental challenges and global responsibility.
The game was held entirely in English, which was an exceptional opportunity for students to combine the formation of environmental awareness with the practice of foreign language communication in a dynamic discussion format.
The atmosphere of the event promoted team cooperation and high involvement of all participants. A significant contribution to the organization and effective coordination of the teams’ work was also made by Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology Olga Bilyk and Assistant Professor Yuliya Lovchuk.
Such interdepartmental projects create a solid foundation for the development of new interdisciplinary educational courses and programs that organically combine natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences, meeting the requirements of modern education and the challenges of sustainable development.
We express our sincere gratitude to all teachers and students for their active participation and dedication.
KNUVS is a community that thinks ecologically, acts responsibly, and learns in partnership for a sustainable future!
